We are looking for a Mid-Level Golang Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our backend transcode systems and services using Go.
The Transcode team supports several services. The language used during day-to-day work is GoLang. The Video Engineering services are responsible for the “backbone” of the TV ecosystem. Transcode services focus on the ingestion portion of the ecosystem – transcoding, ABR ladder handling, DRM handling, etc.
2-3 years of professional software engineering experience, with 2+ years focused on Go or any compiled programming languages
Experience building scalable and distributed systems
Deep understanding of concurrency patterns in Go and experience with goroutines, channels, etc.
Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, RDS, SQS,S3 etc.)
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases
Experience with REST API design and development
Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
Experience with testing frameworks, mocking, and test driven development
Experience with source control systems, especially Git
Ability to learn and master new technologies quickly
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across functional teams
Nice to have:
OTT experience
ABR protocols HLS/DASH
DRM systems (FairPlay, Widevine, PlayReady)
Experience working with FFMpeg application
Experience with Kafka / message brokers
Experience with gRPC / protobuf
