We are looking for an experimented sysadmin/support engineer with more than 10 years of experience in large meeting room hardware installation and maintenance, sound and translation systems, Microsoft Teams implementation, network traffic analysis, AV equipment testing and evaluation, and ITIL certification. You will be responsible for testing and evaluating the Microsoft teams configuration and requirements for government projects, ensuring the security and performance of the equipment, documenting the installation and configuration procedures, and liaising with the manufacturers and IT services.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain the large meeting room hardware, sound systems, and translation systems.
  • Implement Microsoft Teams in large meeting rooms coming from Cisco Webex technology. Measure the acoustic, video, and electrical signals to evaluate the performance of the equipment.
  • Test and evaluate the teams configuration and requirements for government projects, including network, tenant configuration, needs of internal development, communication with the manufacturer and IT services.
  • Analyze the network traffic of AV equipment and their API, and prepare configuration and recommendations accordingly.
  • Test the equipment API and evaluate the equipment security, such as login, communication methods, updates, development, etc.
  • Evaluate the thermal and electromagnetic emission of the equipment, and assess the installation possibilities and adequacy for specific environments.
  • Evaluate the environmental impact of the equipment, such as packaging, recycling, production, power consumption, etc.
  • Test the AV equipment functionalities, such as switching, picture composition, auto-tracking, filtering, etc.
  • Calculate the needs of equipment, such as cabling, size of screens, loudspeakers, etc., and their precise location.
  • Perform acoustic simulation of loudspeaker coverage.
  • Assemble the test setup and program the scripts and automation design for the test environment.
  • Contact the manufacturers to address issues to their advanced support teams.
  • Analyze the AV devices issues and logs, and provide solutions.
  • Document the installation and configuration of the equipment, and provide training and support to the users.
  • Assess the management solutions and their possible implementation in SCIC premises.
  • Evaluate the possible strategies for designs and provide recommendations.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • More than 10 years of experience as a sysadmin/support engineer in a large organization.
  • Can speak English and French well.
  • ITIL certification or equivalent.
  • Expertise in large meeting room hardware, sound systems, and translation systems.
  • Experience in Microsoft Teams implementation in meeting rooms coming from Cisco Webex technology.
  • Knowledge of network traffic analysis, AV equipment testing and evaluation, and equipment security.
  • Ability to measure and evaluate the acoustic, video, electrical, thermal, and electromagnetic signals of the equipment.
  • Ability to evaluate the environmental impact of the equipment.
