Senior SSI/EUDI Verifiable Credentials Engineer

Our client is an EU-based organization currently navigating the shift toward eIDAS 2.0 and EUDI Wallet compliance — early-mover territory, not a settled playbook.

An extension of an ongoing IAM modernization effort. The scope is still taking shape as EU standards mature, so expect to help define the approach as much as execute it. Remote delivery, direct line to the client's internal team.

Small and senior, you'll work closely with the client's own architects and stakeholders rather than through layers. Flexibility on how the work splits (one generalist or two specialists) suggests a client that's still calibrating scope, not locked into a fixed structure.

• Design and implement digital identity and credential-based use cases within an IAM environment;
• Work across issuer, holder/wallet, and verifier architectures — issuance, presentation, verification, and revocation/status;
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into VC use cases and technical solution concepts;
• Support secure key and credential management practices;
• Lead customer-facing work: stakeholder communication, workshops, and presentations to guide the client through the SSI/EUDI design process.

Must have:

• Strong knowledge of W3C Verifiable Credentials (VC) and Decentralized Identifiers (DID)
• Experience with JSON-LD / Data Integrity Proofs or other credential formats and proof mechanisms
• Practical experience with the EUDI Wallet Architecture and Reference Framework (ARF) or comparable SSI frameworks
• Solid understanding of issuer/holder/verifier architecture flows
• REST APIs and token exchange, ideally with OAuth 2.0 / OIDC
• Knowledge of secure key/credential management (Vault, HSM/KMS, or similar)
• Strong consulting mindset — able to run workshops and present to stakeholders
