About Viewer Experience

The Viewer Experience team builds algorithms and services that enable millions of Paramount+ and Pluto TV users to interact with our platform. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who specializes in designing and building scalable APIs and backend services capable of handling thousands of requests per second (RPS) at Paramount+ and Pluto TV’s scale.

• Develop connected TV, mobile and web app features using React Native. 
• Using Test Driven Development principles, build unit tests and automated functionaltests using tools like Playwright, WebDriver API and Appium.
• Write clean, maintainable, sharable and efficient cross-platform shared code withappropriate abstraction layers to accommodate the nuances of multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new tools and technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications in various devices with both high and low performance hardware.
• Identify and correct process bottlenecks, fix bugs and maintain CICD pipeline automation using NX Monorepo, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Helm and Harness.
• Help maintain code quality, code organization and test automatization through regular updates to app packages and refactoring of code.

• Approximately 8+ years of developing mobile and Web applications.
• At least approximately 2+ years of cross platform React Native development experience.
• Strong proficiency in React Native, including RN for Web.
• Proficient in TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Zustand, RTK Query, Recoil or similar state management libraries.
• Strong experience consuming REST APIs in desktop and mobile apps.
• Strong experience with Git, JIRA, and Agile development methodologies.
• Strong experience with unit testing and continuous integration.
• CI/CD with Github Actions and similar platforms.
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

• Experience with Firebase integration
• Experience with DataDog integration
• Experience working with React for Web apps using Node/Bun backend, Next JS, Hapi
• Experience working with monorepo architectures, especially NX
• Experience building automated testing
• Experience with Reanimated or other animation libraries
• Experience building React Native apps on TV devices (Android TV, tvOS, web-based CTVs)
• Experience with game development, especially Lua scripts
• Experience on AI coding tools
• Have lead experience on React Native projects
• Have experience on other native TV platforms like TVOS or Android TV
