Senior QA Automation Engineer

Our client is a free online television service broadcasting over 75 live channels full of the TV shows, movies and Internet videos, all on one dial. The company was founded in 2013 and is based in Los Angeles, California. TechHive, a home technology review site, referred to Pluto TV as the best cord-cutting application. Our client runs as an app on AppleTV, Android TV, Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, and PlayStation. The company currently has around 75 content partners. The company also as of October 2016 has around 5 million monthly active users up from 500,000 in early 2015. 
The client generates revenue from video advertisements between programming, and has a goal to continue to stay as free television.

Your primary focus, as a QA Automation Engineer, will be on testing and decision making. You also will communicate with the rest of the team (US and Ukraine) working on establishing procedures, validating releases and enforcing quality standarts for the product. You will provide development and maintenance of test plans, test cases and test automation systems covering all aspects of software.

Detailed list of responsibilities:

• Create test plans for individual feature sets;
  Design and develop functional tests plans and automated test cases.

We’re looking for a world-class senior QA Automation engineer with strong computer science fundamentals, that can quickly pick up new technologies, that has a true passion for working on a fast-growing, consumer-facing product, that reaches millions of users.

Required:

• Native applications / OTT Platforms functional testing experience
• Formal testing experience from planning to execution
• Automation experience using Java framework
• Proven experience working with Selenium
• 5+ years of experience in a functional testing role
• 5+ years Hands-on experience with developing automated functional tests
• Exposure to Agile Management tools such as Jira, a plus.
• Working experience with common automation frameworks (in Java), a big plus

Strong core QA skills: 

• Strong QA methodology experience in an agile / scrum environment
• Strong experience organizing test approaches,  test planning, and test documentation writing
• Exceptional User testing skills
• Preferred:
• Knowledge of Node.js to implement own solutions including tests;
• Video experience;
• Device experience (Connected TVs, Phones, Tablets, etc.).
