Senior IoT Solutions Architect

The client is a leading international consulting company specializing in real estate, infrastructure, and industrial sector solutions. With headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, they operate in over 60 locations worldwide and have a team of approximately 6,000 employees.

They are recognized for their innovative approach to sustainability and digitalization, offering cost-effective and future-oriented solutions tailored to the specific needs of their clients.

Multiple parallel smart building projects integrating IoT technologies into real estate infrastructure. These projects emphasize the digitalization and modernization of building systems (e.g., HVAC, BMS), both in new constructions and retrofit scenarios. The role supports technical concept creation, implementation, and stakeholder alignment to deliver next-generation smart real estate solutions across Europe (with a preference for Germany).

Work closely with cross-functional project teams, including system integrators, architects, engineers, and tech vendors.

Collaborate with stakeholders from the client side, including:

• Facility managers
• Tenants and end-users
• Service providers
• Construction managers during the implementation

Project Management

• Lead and execute IoT smart building projects from concept to implementation.
• Define use cases, scope of work, and stakeholder requirements.
• Oversee planning, coordination, and on-site design implementation.
• Supervise the testing and commissioning of IoT systems and technologies.

Technical Expertise

• Design and develop system architecture beyond BMS/BOS.
• Integrate IoT platforms and technologies into building infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, lighting, access control).
• Manage smart data flow and analytics frameworks across systems.
• Ensure interoperability between new smart tech and legacy systems.

Consulting & Implementation

• Provide expert guidance to clients and internal teams on smart building technologies and best practices.
• Define the technology roadmap for smart real estate retrofits.
• Support construction teams during the planning and implementation phases.
• Conduct technology scouting for emerging solutions.

Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders (facility managers, tenants, service providers).
• Document processes clearly and produce structured technical and project reports.
• Present solutions and progress to internal and external audiences.

Education & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in IoT and Smart Building projects (ideally real estate sector).
• Familiarity with smart building digitalization trends.
• WiredScore & SmartScore Accredited Professional – nice to have.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in IoT platforms and system architecture (beyond BMS/BOS).
• Understanding of how to integrate multiple smart systems (HVAC, lighting, sensors).
• Experience in data analysis and smart data management.
• Knowledge of retrofitting strategies and smart tech within existing infrastructures.

Project & Collaboration Skills

• Able to define scope of work, use cases, and tech concepts.
• Skilled in on-site planning, design coordination, and testing.
• Comfortable working in multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and presentation capabilities.

Location & Language

• Located in Europe.
• English (C1) and German (minimum B1) proficiency required.
