Go / Software Engineering
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on Go (Golang) development
- Strong knowledge of idiomatic Go and established Go development practices
- Strong understanding of: interfaces and composition, error handling, package and module design, Go Modules and dependency management. Go standard library
- Strong understanding of concurrency in Go, including goroutines, channels, synchronization primitives, context handling and cancellation
- Experience developing long-running backend services, controllers or distributed applications in Go
- Experience designing and consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs
- Strong experience with automated testing in Go, including unit and integration testing
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting Go applications during the development lifecycle
Kubernetes / Cloud Native
- Hands-on experience developing Kubernetes Operators and/or Custom Controllers in Go
- Strong practical experience with the Kubernetes API and Kubernetes-native development
- Experience designing and implementing Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs)
- Strong understanding of the Kubernetes reconciliation pattern and controller lifecycle
- Practical development experience with relevant Kubernetes Go libraries and frameworks, particularly: controller-runtime, client-go, Kubebuilder and/or Operator SDK
- Understanding of Kubernetes controller concepts such as: reconciliation loops, watches, caching/informers, status and conditions, finalizers, owner references
- Experience with different Kubernetes setups, particularly: bare metal, cloud-managed Kubernetes, distributed/edge environments
- Experience developing containerized Go applications
Infrastructure / Networking
- Good understanding of cloud, edge and IoT infrastructure concepts
- Understanding of bare-metal infrastructure and automated infrastructure provisioning
- Strong understanding of low-level network topologies and networking concepts
- Understanding of the interaction between Kubernetes, compute, storage and networking components
- Good understanding of distributed systems and infrastructure architectures
Telco / Professional Background
- Understanding of the Telco domain and Telco infrastructure (nice-to-have)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a comparable field, or equivalent professional IT experience
- Ability to collaborate with engineers from different technical disciplines, particularly infrastructure, networking, security and AI/ML
Nice-to-have
- Experience developing Kubernetes admission webhooks and other Kubernetes API extension mechanisms
- Knowledge of Kubernetes API machinery and API versioning
- Experience with envtest or comparable approaches for testing Kubernetes controllers
- Experience with Cluster API (CAPI) or comparable infrastructure lifecycle frameworks
- Experience with bare-metal provisioning technologies such as Metal³ / Bare Metal Operator, Ironic or comparable solutions
- Knowledge of Kubernetes networking and CNI
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation
- Experience with GitOps concepts and tooling
- Experience with observability technologies such as Prometheus and OpenTelemetry
- Experience with Go profiling and performance analysis, e.g. pprof
- Knowledge of Kubernetes security concepts such as RBAC, admission control, secrets management and workload security
- Experience developing Kubernetes-native solutions for AI/ML workloads
- Experience with highly distributed edge or telco cloud architectures
