Project details

The program serves investment fund management companies and audit firms in Luxembourg. Primary users are financial institutions that require auditing tools for investment funds. The client base consists of regulated entities that must comply with specific audit and reporting requirements. Stakeholders include senior managers and audit partners who frequently change requirements and priorities. The customer environment demands accurate, compliant solutions that meet regulatory standards.

It's a software development project building an end-to-end investment fund auditing platform. The project extends existing automation systems with new functionality for the fiscal year starting July 1st. The platform processes investment fund data through automated audit procedures and generates required reports. The project follows a 3-month roadmap cycle with defined deliverables and timelines. Progress tracking includes monthly KPI reporting on budget, risk, team effort, and feature delivery metrics. Project management uses Jira for user story tracking and sprint management.

Your Team

The Product Owner works with Business Analysts who gather requirements and create user stories, Scrum Masters who facilitate agile processes, and development teams who build the software. Team communication occurs through weekly stakeholder meetings, bi-weekly priority sessions, and monthly steering committee reports. The Product Owner coordinates between business stakeholders and technical teams within established agile frameworks. Work is organized in sprints with regular grooming sessions and planning meetings.

Responsibilities

The Product Owner will drive product strategy and vision for assigned components within the program, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and stakeholder expectations. 

Responsibilities include managing and prioritizing the product backlog, leading sprint planning sessions, and maintaining clear communication channels with frequently changing stakeholder priorities. The role requires active participation in requirement refinement, working alongside Business Analysts to ensure user stories meet acceptance criteria and sprint readiness standards. Additional duties include contributing to 3-month roadmap planning based on team capacity analysis, participating in monthly KPI reporting covering budget and risk metrics, and facilitating stakeholder alignment through regular status updates and progress demonstrations.

Skills

  •  Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field is a strong plus.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in product development in the financial services sector (AML), with a proven track record of successful product launches in tech-driven environments.
  • Analytical and project management skills, deep understanding of Agile methodologies, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid Technical skills and solid experience in cloud-based development, preferably Azure.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric approach, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills with fluency in English; proficiency in German/French would be an added advantage.
  • The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of Product Owner experience within agile development environments, preferably with exposure to financial services, auditing, or regulatory compliance domains.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities are essential, particularly experience working with senior executives and managing frequently shifting priorities. 
  • Technical competencies should include proficiency with Jira/Azur DevOps, understanding of data analysis concepts, and familiarity with agile project management methodologies. 
  • The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills for presenting to steering committees and conducting stakeholder meetings. 
  • Prior experience in investment fund management, audit technology, or financial services sector would be highly advantageous. 
  • The role requires adaptability, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable product features.
