The client is a leading international consulting company specializing in real estate, infrastructure, and industrial sector solutions. With headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, they operate in over 60 locations worldwide and have a team of approximately 6,000 employees.

They are recognized for their innovative approach to sustainability and digitalization, offering cost-effective and future-oriented solutions tailored to the specific needs of their clients.

The project represents Phase 1 of a Microsoft 365 migration initiative, focused on performing a structured gap analysis of the existing on-premises IT landscape and defining the future target state in the Microsoft Cloud.
The engagement is workshop-driven and concentrates on requirement gathering, stakeholder alignment, and documentation of the current and future architecture.
The outcome of this phase will serve as the foundation for the subsequent technical migration and implementation phases.

The consultant will work closely with the customer’s IT and project management teams, as well as key business stakeholders.
The engagement involves collaboration with decision-makers, technical leads, and subject matter experts to capture requirements and constraints.
Project coordination and prioritization will be aligned with the customer’s project management and governance structures.

Plan and facilitate workshops for requirements gathering and gap analysis

Coordinate with project management on objectives, scope, and timelines

Perform a detailed analysis of the existing on-premises IT environment, including systems, processes, and dependencies

Conduct stakeholder interviews to capture functional, technical, and security requirements

Document the current state (as-is) architecture and processes

Define the future target state (to-be) based on Microsoft 365 services

Identify, document, and prioritize gaps between current and target states

Consolidate findings into structured documentation

Prepare and deliver presentations outlining analysis results, recommendations, and next steps

Support alignment sessions with project managers and decision-makers

• Several years of experience in IT consulting, cloud migration, or Microsoft 365 projects
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, identity and security)
• Solid understanding of on-premises environments (Active Directory, Exchange, file servers, networking basics)
• Proven experience in gap analysis, requirements engineering, and workshop facilitation
• Ability to document complex environments in a clear, structured, and business-oriented way
• Strong analytical and structured working style
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent German (C1+) required for workshops, interviews, and documentation
• English proficiency is a plus
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Germany (Frankfurt area)
