Architect Outsystems Software Engineer

The project is an enterprise low-code platform built on OutSystems, delivering business applications across the client’s digital ecosystem: from internal operational tools to partner- and customer-facing solutions. The applications integrate with the core SAP S/4HANA landscape and surrounding commerce systems, bringing speed of delivery to business-critical processes while maintaining enterprise-grade architecture, security and scalability. An established development team is in place; the Architect joins to own the technical direction of the platform and to bridge business needs with sound architectural decisions

• Own the end-to-end architecture of the OutSystems platform and application portfolio
• Define architectural standards, reference patterns and reusable components for the development team
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
• Design integrations between OutSystems applications and the enterprise landscape (SAP S/4HANA, REST/SOAP APIs, external services)
• Review and approve technical designs; conduct architecture and code reviews
• Govern platform health: performance, security, technical debt, lifecycle and upgrade planning
• Act as the technical counterpart to business stakeholders and product owners
• Support estimation, roadmap planning and technical risk assessment
• Mentor and guide developers on OutSystems best practices
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, integration and infrastructure teams

• 6+ years of hands-on OutSystems experience

• Proven experience as an OutSystems Architect or Tech Lead on enterprise-scale applications

• OutSystems certifications (Architecture Specialist / Expert or equivalent)

• Strong understanding of OutSystems architecture principles: 4-Layer Canvas / Architecture Canvas, module dependencies, reusability, performance optimization

• Experience designing integrations with ERP systems (SAP preferred), REST/SOAP services and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, SSO)

• Solid background in data modeling, security and non-functional requirements

• Business domain experience: ability to work directly with business stakeholders, understand processes and shape requirements — not purely a technical role

• Experience in enterprise environments with established governance, release and change management

• Strong communication skills; fluent English

• Experience in retail, consumer goods, manufacturing or e-commerce

• Knowledge of SAP integration technologies (OData, SAP CPI / Integration Suite)

• Experience with OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC) and migration from O11

• Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence)
