Database Administrator

Our client is a software development and professional services company specializing in digital supply chain solutions for global media organizations — spanning cloud technology, media content management, and SaaS/D2C platform experiences. We need a specialist to review and optimize our database layer. We have not had a dedicated DBA before, and our queries were written by engineers who are strong developers but not necessarily SQL specialists. We know there are performance issues. We need someone to come in, assess the scale of the problem, and fix what they find.

You will be joining a lean, high-performing engineering team building and evolving a Cloud-based media and streaming orchestration platform for a growing digital supply chain company that serves global media clients.

What you will do

• Review all existing queries for performance
• Review how queries are called from Python and Django
• Review all database views
• Check database tables and structures
• Confirm indexes exist in the right places and add them where missing
• Restructure parts of the database if needed

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience working with Django
• Solid Python skills
• Proven track record optimizing SQL queries and database schemas in production systems
