Middle QA Engineer

Our client is a Romania-based IT consulting and engineering company, part of a renowned European group specializing in digital transformation and innovation. They focus on delivering tailored solutions for the Banking, FinTech, and Data Engineering sectors. With a strong presence in enterprise environments, they bring a competitive edge through domain-specific QA expertise and a robust data platform engineering stack, including technologies like Snowflake and Databricks.

The organization typically operates within structured, domain-specific vertical teams and partners with internal business stakeholders or major banking institutions. Key industry challenges they tackle include navigating legacy architectures, ensuring compliance with strict financial regulations, and maintaining data accuracy across distributed systems.

The project supports the rollout of financial products across multiple European markets for a major international banking group. The initial rollout will focus on Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The IT hub responsible for these initiatives is based in Romania.

The scope includes participation in multiple parallel streams: development of new features, ongoing enhancements, issue resolution, and the evolution of a Corporate Digital Platform. This opportunity offers engineers a chance to contribute to meaningful financial technology initiatives with international reach.

You’ll be joining a cross-functional team composed of internal engineers from our Romanian delivery hub and specialists from the client’s in-house IT department. Collaboration, shared ownership, and knowledge exchange are key pillars of the team's culture.

• Test digital banking web interfaces and services
• Validate transactions, cards, deposits, and payments
• Identifying and documenting software defects
• Collaborating with developers to resolve issues
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices

• Strong knowledge of banking workflows
• Experience testing APIs and web services
• Experienced in manual software testing
• Actively participate in the development of new tasks from initial idea to final release to clients
• Good at analyzing requirements and finding possible problem cases
• Open for suggestions, ideas, and discussions to find better solutions
• Pro-active - not afraid of communicating new ideas, issues, or taking the initiative
